Hi there! I'm Ningjing Tang, a third-year PhD student in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Hong Shen and Hoda Heidari.

My research develops participatory, multi-stakeholder approaches to AI evaluation. Different actors, from developers, domain experts, and end-users to affected communities, often hold divergent views on what should be measured, what can be measured, and what constitutes valid evidence of model quality or harm. Through mixed-methods research, I investigate how these tensions manifest in practice and design evaluation approaches that account for them.

Prior to joining CMU, I obtained my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University, where I was part of Xinya College, a residential liberal arts program.
